Sample lesson
The Photoshop workspace
Video by Trippie Design, with the key ideas and a quick check.
Key ideas
Photoshop looks crowded the first time you open it, but every screen is built from the same four parts.
- The toolbar on the left holds the tools: move, select, brush, type and more. A small triangle on a tool means more tools are hidden under it.
- The options bar along the top changes with the tool you pick, and holds its settings.
- The panels on the right, Layers above all, show and change what is in your document.
- The canvas in the middle is your image. Zoom with Ctrl and + or −, and hold the space bar to move around it.
